Renault-Nissan's 3.0 V6 Diesel will be offered on Nissan Maxima and Infiniti Range

The Renault-Nissan alliance has released further details on the availability of its brand-new 3.0-liter V6 dCi turbo diesel engine that made its debut in the Laguna Coupe at the 2008 Paris Motorshow, in October. This engine is the first V6 diesel powerplant developed and produced by the alliance which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2009. Concerning Nissan, the 3.0 V6 dCi will be available in the U.S by 2010 on the new Maxima and in Europe, on the Pathfinder and Navara. The group also said that the diesel engine will be offered on the latest Infiniti EX and FX crossovers and the M sedan models sold in Europe.

In what concerns Renault, the V6 diesel is already available on Laguna Coupe, and will soon be offered on Laguna Hatch and Laguna Sport Tourer. The specific motor will also equip other vehicles in the future, as the new V6 dCi has been conceived for use in various types of vehicles and it can be adapted to various environmental regulations, such as the Euro5 or the Californian regulations.

In the Renault Laguna Coupe, the 3.0 V6 dCi delivers an output of 235HP and 450 Nm (332.9 lbs-ft) of torque, but the automaker said that it will offere more powerful versions, as it has been estimated that the V6 diesel can crank out up to 265HP and 550 Nm (405.7 lbs-ft) of torque when put longitudinally on a car.
