Lamborghini Jota: Murcielago's Replacement Spied

The first spy photos of the Murcielago's successor have started hitting the web as the Italian automaker began testing prototype models of its next-generation supercar on the open road. The new 'raging bull' is said to be named Jota after a one-off Miura prototype from 1970 which was destroyed in an accident a year later. Though nothing has been officially confirmed, it is believed that under the thinly camouflaged Murcielago body shell, the test mule is hiding a new aluminum chassis -thank Audi for that- rather than a steel tub to reduce the supercar's overall weight. -Continued

The vehicle is still in its early development stages which means that we won't be seeing the production version making its debut any time soon. However, what we might see in the next few months is prototype models of the Jota wearing production-ready body shells thus giving us an idea of what the new Lambo will look like.
