Daihatsu Rolls Out Mira Cocoa Mini to Target Female Buyers

To be completely frank, the first thing that caught our attention on Daihatsu's new JDM mini car was its name. 'Mira Cocoa' sounds like something that would be used on a product for female buyers because that's actually the market that Daihatsu is targeting with its new mini. According to Toyota Motor Corp's subsidiary, the name 'Cocoa' was chosen to "express the fact that the car offers passengers the comfortable feeling and relaxed atmosphere that one gets from drinking cocoa." Gotta love those marketing folks...

The new five-door mini is available in Japan with a 660 cc three-cylinder engine producing 58 horsepower and 65 Nm of maximum torque, coupled to either a 4-speed automatic gearbox or a CVT. As with most JDM cars, the Mira Cocoa is available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations.

Daihatsu said that monthly sales target for Japan are 3,000 units with retail prices (excluding consumption tax) ranging are from 1 million yen to 1.364 million yen.
