Mexico’s first ever sports car, the Mastretta MXT will make its Euro debut on July 22 at the British International Motor Show. Featuring a semi-monocoque chassis constructed from bonded aluminium and a body from high quality fibreglass, the MXT weighs in at a mere 1,985 lbs or 900 kg. The two-seater rear-wheel-drive coupe is equipped with a mid-mounted 2.0-litre supercharged Ford Duratec engine that develops nearly 240bhp pushing it on to 60 mph (96 km/h) from rest in less than 5.0 seconds and on to a top speed of 150 mph (241 km/h). -Continued The Mastretta MXT on display in London 22 will be the penultimate prototype, as the company expects to complete Vehicle Certification Agency testing by October, with RHD production beginning in January 2009. Prices for the UK market are set at £32,999 ($66,000 or €42,000).
